Question

Error code 32768

I was trying to download Malwarebytes as suggested by cnets to increase speed when something went VERY wrong! My pc says its a registry error.
Error code 32768
\WINDOWS\SYSTEMS32\CONFIG\SYSTEM
When I try to use the recovery disk, It says this: 1:C:WINDOWS
Which Windows installation would you like to log onto <to cancel, press ENTRY>?
I don't understand what to do, can't even get into safe mode

Recovery Console

In reply to: Error code 32768

What happened when you tried to load the Safe Mode list of options, what did you see? Any error messages?

In the Recovery Console, where it says 1:C:\Windows just select 1, (press 1 on the keyboard).

There's some guidance about the Recovery Console here; http://www.wikihow.com/Use-Windows-Recovery-Console-from-XP-CD

Recover Console

In reply to: Recovery Console

Mark,
The web site wasn't able to help. There where you are able to choose 1, I press 1 and it never responds. As to your question do I see an error code, no.
Any other ideas?
Thanks, saramage

Reading your reply about the Recovery Console I wonder

In reply to: Error Code

Since you booted the XP CD and it failed to get to the recovery console this points to a hardware issue and not a bum OS.

Try the usual. Tell all about the hardware and UNPLUG ALL USB THINGS next time.
