Error Code = 32

Hi have noticed after running The Cleaner 3.x 30 day Trial, I get this
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\CCPD-LC\symlcsys.dll

PROBLEM: Could not scan this file. Error Code = 32
SOLUTION: Inspect the file manually or ask for help.
I also scanned this with Norton AntiVirus 2004 and get a message
Unable to open the file, (then where this file is at)followed by The file is in use by another application or you don't have permission to open this file.

then Click here to goto Symantec Tech Support Knowledge Base

this is what Symantec Tech Support suggests
Stop the NAV virus scan.
Delete the files in the Windows temporary folder and restart the computer.
Close all open applications.
Run another virus scan.

As you can see though, the file isn't in Temp Folder, and I am a little apprehensive to delete the darn thing, I did however goto misconfig and disable it at start up, but still wasn't able to scan the file, can someone help.

Sorry, I don't see a Windows ME issue.

Just noting that this seems to be an application issue you need to take up with "The Cleaner" people if a boot to SAFE MODE doesn't allow the scan. The Symantec software DLL in question is also not part of Windows ME, so that's not a Windows ME issue as well.

Try SAFE MODE. And ask the vendor/maker of the software that doesn't seem to work.

Hi Bob thanx for taking the time to answer, I did try to reboot in safe mode, but the machine freezes every time, it's feeling a little sinister, have e/m the guys at Cleaner, have also tried to copy the file but again it doesn't allow me, was of the mind, copy it, then delete the file if it messes up then paste it back in.
Bob any advice would be appreciated

I now see a Windows ME issue.

Freezing in Safe Mode is rather a terrible thing. Besides SYSTEM RESTORE to when it worked and http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q273/7/38.ASP I don't have a lot to offer as a "Do this and it will all get better."

I'll have to know a lot more about how the machine got to this state and maybe something about the machine. Power supply watts, motherboard make/model, CPU and history. i.e. this Tip:

"Tip: If you are asking for help to troubleshoot a computer-related problem, please be sure to include all the necessary information (ie: operating system, model number, hardware, software, etc) that will help others identify your problem for a speedy resolution."

Code 32 error and loss of use of DVD's and CD players

What do you do? All of a sudden I have lost the use of my Sony DRX 700 UL and another 16x DVD ROM (Toshiba-I think.) I can find no causal relationship. Help!
