But the Windows 10 setup and repair media is FREE for you to make USB or DVD copies. Google Microsoft Media Creation Kit to find out how to do this.
As to the drive, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCuc0EXeCkg shows it's a lot of work but yes, once you get the drive out ( skip to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCuc0EXeCkg&feature=youtu.be&t=455 to see the drive).
With the drive out you can put it in some USB case or adapter ( example: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0787MDDS9 ) then fish out the files you forgot to backup.
This isn't a trivial job so your choice to have it done at your shop.
Hi all. Recently I received a Bsod error File
BCD error code 0x000098 upon start up of my Wacom Cintiq companion.I tried various options given the menu to fix the problem nothing seemed to work. I did have access to the dos shell. So I've been trying to copy the files off the drive I need, mostly work. However there r some programs I don't have the original discs to mostly old now but which I still use. Windows 10 I don't have discs for as they were upgraded from the oem ver of win 8. Is there a way to connect my tablet to my home pc and retrieve or clone that drive? I don't want to do a factory reset until I have more files backed up.
