still having error 3;can u help in this!
by ghada_eloud / March 4, 2011 3:54 PM PST

Hi all;
I'm still having error 3 on magicjack eventhough i made many searches on the magicjack official site and others..telling that i should unblock it from avast firewall...i already done this!
1-There's another issue telling that I should:<<Error-3 : occurs when your router is blocking the UDP port 5060 and UDP port 5070 for the IP address to which you have plugged in your magicjack >>.
Can u please tell me the steps for solving this issue? on windows XP and windows 7.

2-Another blog saying that usb properties should not be placed in saving energy mode;
how 2 do this for one of the usb ports that i'll use only for magicjack!

Regards 4 all;

Ignore the blog. Try this instead:

Please open port 5060 and 5070 UDP on ALL firewalls and your router, if

you have one. (Router ports can be opened via the web application

applicable to your router). "That means re-activating windows firewall and open the exceptions window in order to tell it not to block access to these two ports."

Restart magicJack again by following the three steps above.

How to access Web Application for router
1.Start > Run > Type in cmd > Press ENTER
2.A command prompt will open "C:\"
3.Type ipconfig > press ENTER "key"
4.Make note / write down name of the default "web access" gateway and "its" IP address
5.Open your Internet Browser "Internet Explorer recommended"
6.Type in the default gateway IP (Example: "the one you just wrote down"
7.Type in "your" Username and "your" Password
8.Find "Port Forwarding" and Forward Port 5060 and 5070 UDP for the "your" IP address you located earlier "as pointed out at point 6"

Everything quoted is done by myself to clarify the steps to accomplish. Good Luck! Wink

I solved it. My case was that I have multiple ip on the pc that I have the magicJack. After seeing a lot of information, nothing helped me.
Someone told me about a software called HotSpot worked, but changed my ip because it is a proxy.
Finally I decided to search deeper into the magicjack registration.
BINGO !!!!. I found the following:
HKEY_CURRENTUSER \ Software \ talk4free \ USB Softphone \ Opcions \ Calling Options
I found this REG_SZ HOSTADDRESS = ip and changed it with my PC.
