Error 1606. could not access network location \Startup

Jun 29, 2005 1:59AM PDT

I have been trying to install Adobe Acrobat (Versions 5, 6, and 7.0 pro) for the past 2 days now. I get the

error 1606.could not access network location\Startup

mid install.

I have read posts that have suggested deleting, editing, and making changes to my registry and nothing seems to work.

I have also tried the Microsoft windows clean up program and other resolutions at http://support.microsoft.com.

Can Anyone Help?

Error 1606. could not access network location \Startup - FiX

When installing an error is displayed Error 1606

Error 1606. Could not access network location \ Startup

Many other applications have this error when installing. This is almost always caused by an invalid registry entry for Microsoft Office. If you have upgraded Office, check for an old 10.0 or 9.0 key in the registry (HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Office\) and fix or remove it. It is trying to access the Word/Excel startup folders based on the registry and cannot find them.

Since I was running Office 2k3, I deleted 9.0 and 10, and left 11 alone

reran setup and it ran without error.
