Any ideas where I can get info to unlock an old ericsson R280LX? Original service was with AT&T.

Old technology
Apr 25, 2005 2:26PM PDT

There are no prior posts on Cnet forums. I checked before I asked the question. This is at least a 5 year old piece of technology. Is technology changing that fast that no one can remember how to tweak something 5 years old? I can still change the transmission on a '57 chevy, but there's no input for a 5 year old phone? Come on... think! I would like to think technology isn't THAT disposable. If it is, I'll just throw the phone in the trash instead of trying to let my daughter utilize it. It's a nice phone with lots of features. It shouldn't just be discarded because the market has smaller, mega-multi-most-people-won't-use-features-that-you-pay-for-anyway, expensive phones and plans, with every gadget available...
I just want my daughter to make a simple phone call if she needs to without another significant bill. Is that too much to ask of "technology"?
Back to the original *****: 5 years ain't that long ago...
No one has a clue other than "outside sources"?
it makes me sad...

I think your only other option might be to contact Sony Ericsson directly. I think that model is TDMA and if so, no carrier would be able to provide unlock codes. Remember, Cingular/AT&T is no longer offering that technology for sale (not abondoning those who still use TDMA, just not providing new service on that technology).
