First I ask you to digest all of the CDR FAQ at http://www.cdrfaq.org/ Your erase question is answered there.
Next, you now know your CDR answer and maybe the CDRW answer. But do try http://www.cdburnerxp.se/ and it's ERASE CDRW button just to be sure before you replace the media.

Does anybody know of any way (or software) to erase CD-R and CD-RW after *.wav files or *.* files have been burnt to the CDs and make them usable again. Ive' tried the latest versions of Nero and Creator ver 7 but to no avail. I just get the message that the disk can't be erased or re-formated. I can understand the possible problem in erasing CD-Rs after 'finalizing' the disk (and they're cheap enough!) but I don't understand why I can't make CD-RW usable again. I can reuse CD-RW disks if 'data'only is burnt to the disk.
I'm running Windows XP professional.
