Resolved Question

Erasing aol password ,username on a laptop

Dec 28, 2011 6:23AM PST

HI,
I am getting rid of an old dell 505 latitude computer that was given to me clean. I had it as a second computer, so i only used it to check E-mail when my other one did not work. It does not have word on it or other added programs as it was given to me that way. when you do go online and hit aol, my password and username automatically come up with my mail and access to my inbox. How do i get rid of this capability? i do not have AOL software installed additionally, just web based.
Thanks,

is stored in your registry. You could research how to use regedit and look for all AOL entries and see if a password and/or username is stored under ine of the AOL entries.

The question of how to erase personal info

And not the OS has been discussed before. If you read it you find that this is not a feature of Windows and no one has an app for that.

Just wipe the drive with the usual drive eraser apps and then load the OS again.

Anything else leaves traces.
