equipment help

by ews1954 / October 6, 2010 6:33 AM PDT

i want to upgrade my current home theater/stereo and go component 5-channel. I'm looking at B&W 802s for front speakers,HTM1 center, and 805's for rear. Amplification is where I need help. For stereo sound I'd like some real power (400w+). But 5-7 channel amps don't get me where I want. Is my only choice to go w/ mono amps? Or maybe a combination 3 and 2 channel? Obviously I don't need 400W for center and rears. I'm really lost please!

a pretty advanced question even for me. I recommend you try the AVS forums. The people on those foums have a lot more knowledge of high-end setups like this. You definitely want to do this right.
