Equipment for hybrid network- followup question

Oct 14, 2004 8:40AM PDT

Hi, have a destop without an ethernet card, and received my new laptop with intel IEEE 802.11b and ethernet. What equipment do i need to have a hybrid network, with the desktop wired and laptop wireless. Would like to be able to share files and broaband internet. Do i need to add a ethernet card to the desktop?

"Do i need to add a ethernet card to the desktop?"

I haven't seen a desktop without ethernet for years, but if it doesn't figure 5 to 10 bucks for a generic 10/100BT NIC.

For starters, yes. The version is up to you (USB, PCI, wired or wireless).
