Equalizing volume on mp3 tracks?

by dromel / May 24, 2007 4:53 PM PDT

I have about 100 songs that I ripped as mp3 tracks to my Hard Drive from 20 or 30 of my CD's and than copied onto a Creative Zen mp3 player. However, the volume levels vary greatly and I am looking for a way to level all the songs on the mp3 player so that I don't need to keep adjusting the volume for each one.
Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Bob,

Thanks for the link. I downloaded and used MP3Gain http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/ .
Did exactly what I wanted, did it well and did it simply.

Ostensibly there is a similar routine in MAGIX Audio Cleaning Lab 10, but I was not able to unravel the menus, directions and subtleties of that program.

When it comes to PC utility programs, I tend to favor uni-taskers; i.e. CDex vs Nero.

Thanks
