EPSON STYLUS PHOTO R1800 - any good?

Sep 22, 2006 7:38PM PDT

Hi people. I have a question about a printer I'm thinking of buying ... The EPSON STYLUS PHOTO R1800. This is a large format printer; the reason I am buying it, but I was just wondering if I could print on plain ordinary paper the size 13 by 18. I was told that I couldn't, and that I Must use glossy photo printer. Well, I Need to use plain old fashion plain paper And plain old card stock, nothing fancy. Photo paper is Not what I want it for.
Can anyone help?

The thing is they won't listen to complaints about print quality when you don't use the Epson paper.

I own this model, it work great! I bought it about a year ago, but I had to send it back once! The paper wheel got worn down and then it wouldn't grab the paper. But, Epson sent me a brand new printer in 7days! I only use Epson ink and paper. I think it is the best. The print head tend to get cloged if not used every 2 weeks. No problem just do a print head check before you print to aviod any problem with bad prints. I love this printer and won't buy anything else in this price range. I hope it works for you.
