Epson stylus c86/router wireless issues

by bhumke / February 24, 2006 12:00 AM PST

Help! I have a wireless linksys befw11s4 router & want to hook up my epson printer wireless.

Epson says this is wired/wireless capable; however, even the technial guys were no help! Go figure. Only after getting my user guide out & reading word for word did he know it was wireless capable, only to learn, Epson no longer had any 'wireless adapters' for this printer!!!!

My issue: how do I set it up wireless? It has a pararell & usb port on it. What do I need a usb printer adapter or a wireless print server???

I'm confused & have found nothing on the web to help me with this.

Thanks,

Using a wireless Printer Server is more likely to work for you..

Please learn how they work before you buy..

Wireless print server

A wireless print server is what you want. The printer lists wireless compatibility because Epson makes a wireless adapter for their printers (they even made a C86WN which came with it). That said, this one's relatively simple, and all you need is a USB print server for it. If you want it to be near your wireless router, then by all means just save the money and buy a wired one. If not, though-if you want to keep the printer, say, in a different room, then you'll need a wireless print server.

The Samsung RF23M8090SG

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
