Question

Epson Photo Stylus 1400 printing rows of black over designs

Jul 9, 2015 9:00AM PDT

I work on a Macbook Pro and I am running Yosemite 10.9.5.

My Epson Photo Stylus 1400 has worked great for 3 or 4 years now.

Yesterday suddenly everything I tried to print comes out with rows of black bars covering the design or text.

I can see the text or design faintly behind the black bars.

I can't find anything online where someone had a similar problem.

I tried updating my printer driver through Apple updates. I tried deinstalling my driver and reinstalling my driver.

I tried shutting down my computer and printer, unplugging the USB cord and then pressing down the paper and power button on my printer at the same time to see if a test print printed. It did, but it was covered with the same black bars that cover everything.

This happens printing from Adobe InDesign, MS Word, my gmail email account, Acrobat...
