True B/W can be problematic. Reasons and ideas to get there

I don't have your model scanner. I have some HP.

However to get better BW prints I do just one thing. I set my printer settings to BW printing. I have a HP k550 printer and it seems just fine. However beauty is in the eye of the beholder so who knows how much scrutiny there is or who's looking.
