I have an old Epson Stylus C62 printer so I have a similar monitor display when I am printing.
I don't use the monitor as a gauge to how far the printing has progressed. It is just an indication that printing "is" progressing ok.
I might be wrong, but doesn't that progress bar simply state that the print job has been sent to the onboard printer memory? If so, then the the more onboard memory a printer has means it can store more of the print job.
I don't see any way to change this, or any need.

When printing, the status monitor progress bar always goes about half way along its travel at printing commencement. This causes the status monitor to think the printing task is finished, when in fact its only about half way.The printer carries on and completes its task without the status monitor.
Any ideas on how to get the status monitor synchronised with the printer.Thanks,Tony.
