aliens exist, but cablecards not!

at least not in Brazil!
i think it is illegal here... there are tricks that makes you able to decode the signal in your computer, but that is wayyy too illegal! (because the internet comes on the same cable as the tv, so people don't pay the tv service and decode it unauthorized)

we barely have DVRs, we don't have hdtv... not even public digital tv!
(open digital broadcasting will begin only this year, first in some large capital cities)

i have a satellite tv provider that provides a DVR, but it's too expensive... do you remember how expensive are electronics in Brazil? do you remember how many dollars we pay for an iPod here?

it's not that expensive, it would only double the satellite tv subscription for one year to pay everything...
but my father pays the home phone, 4 cell phones, the satellite tv with the cool sports pay per view channels (soccer only Silly )
and the dsl subscription...

the telco will make a deal with sky+directv (sky bought directv in brazil) and he will pay like 200 dollars for all this, monthly

but i don't mind having "tivo", because the cool series i always watch it on my computer, the day after it releases in USA... and i only watch tv when watching sports, which are live!
