Entourage MAC email disappears when moved to file

I have MAC OS X version 10.4.9 and Entourage 2004 for MAC version 11.3.3. Just lately when I drag an email to a file, I lose it. It doesn't happen all the time. I try different emails, some move to a file and some don't. I look in all the other files to see if they are in there and I can't find them anywhere.
