entourage / explorer conflict

I just picked up a used g5 on ebay - she's a beauty! I've got a problem though. Whenever I'm in Internet Explorer and click on someone's email link it doesn't open up Entourage (or any other email program) and insert the address in an email.

I've searched high and low in both program's preference menus but I can't seem to get it to work. On every other Mac I've ever known this interaction between ie / outlook was always automatic. Though I've got to be honest - this is my first osx mac. What am I missing here?

Entourage / Explorer conflict

First, get rid of Internet Explorer. Use Safari. It is much faster and more secure that IE.
Next, launch the MAIL app and then go to preferences. You will find a place to choose your default Email Reader (Client) Choose Entourage. you may have to use the option "Select" and then browse to Entourage. All should be well after that.
Remember, use Safari and NOT Internet Explorer
