Entourage 2000 picture problem

Jun 8, 2006 11:20PM PDT

When using Entourage X for Mac, the pictures automatically downloaded on incoming HTML email. When I installed E2K version 11.2.3, I found you have to click the "download pictures" button to make them appear. It's a nuisance but what choice do you have? I couldn't find a way to turn on picture downloading in the preferences. And now, it's stopped working. When I click the download pictures button, the "X's" where there should be pictures disappear, but no pictures appear. I trashed the Entourage library preference file but nothing changed. How do I defeat this, turn it back on, or do I have to reinstall?

Entourage/Preferences/General Preferences/Security.

There is a setting there to display complex HTML in messages, check it, and another that tells Entourage to "Automatically download pictures from my Address book contacts"

By default, Entourage will NOT download pictures. There are instructions to fix it on this page.

While you are in the preferences, go to Compose and check UNIX (UUEncode) for your attachments, no compression and append file name extensions. This will ensure that if you have to email attachments to your less fortunate friends, they will be able to open them.

hope this fixes your problem
