18.4 models. Acer was the first to release this new type of laptop with 16.9 aspect ratio wide screens.
Ahoy,
I'm in the market for an entertainment laptop that could be used to stream NBA games in HD, a feature that is offered by NBA.com. Since I rarely watch TV other than basketball, I'd rather have this capability in a laptop than purchase both a laptop and an HDTV with a digital cable package.
Other than that, I would be using the laptop to watch blu-ray (Planet Earth, for example), browse the web, listen to music and write papers. No gaming, photoshopping or other graphic-intensive operations. The hardrive doesn't have to be huge, and the processor doesn't have to be blinding-fast, so long as it can do the above without problems.
I've read good reviews about the Sony Vaio FW series and its XBRITE-FullHD display.
I've also read good reviews about Dell Studio XPS 16 with its RGBLED LCD display.
Which of these do you recommnend in terms of screen quality and overall ability, and are there any other laptops I should be on the lookout for? Looking to keep things under 1500. Thanks for reading.
