entempo spirir HD replacment

Jun 8, 2005 3:10PM PDT

I am trying to replace the original Entempo spirit 20 GB HD with a 80 GB HD
Unfortunately the Entempo does not recognize the new HD.
The new HD was formatted in FAT 32.
Partition of the HD into two drives also did not help.
Any ideas?

You jumper over a magic line.

At magic numbers such as 32GB and 64GB, each require more coding for such players to use the drive. You'll have to ask the player's maker if they have firmware to support this large drive.

how's the player working out for you anyhow?

hmm, the entempo, huh? that's like the cheapest 20 gig player on the market. i've heard some pretty nasty things about it's reliability. How long have you had it, and what's been your experience with it so far? any problems? i'd like some feedback. thanks.

spirit review

1. sounds OK,
2. the radio has poor reception, it losses tuning when the housing plastic is pressed ?!
3. slow file transfer, compared to my other Archos X200.
4. I am using it as a player connected to my stereo.
5. worth 100$ not more not less

Entempo Spirit 20
Jul 17, 2005 4:03AM PDT

Purchased an Entempo Spirit 20, ($99.00) and it works fine since July 10.

A bit confused how to make playlists as I did so via my computer and it did not take.

Loaded 1700 + tracks onto Entempo.

The indexing by the internal software left some things to be desired.

Usually I listen to music via headphone output mini connector to my bose radio RCA aux input. Fine for my purposes.

Output Sounds great.

Looking for an Entempo forum to dialog in.
Especially to learn more about the Entempo.

I just bought myself a flash player, the Sandisk Sansa, which I'm happy with, but if the Entempo's available at $99, it might be worth having around. I may check into it.
