Enhancement of Low Pixel Photos

Unfortunately my son had some photos of his wedding taken with a very low pixel camcorder. Is there any software that can enhance the photos ? One sees such improvements on TV cop shows for CCTV pictures - is it just a myth ?

The TV shows use magic (that means...it's fake).

Do I understand this correctly......someone used a digital camcorder to take photos (not videos)?

If that is the case....you have two choices:

1. Print them as very small prints (smaller than 4 x 6).
If we knew the size of the photo file (800x600 or what) we can offer more exact sizes to print.

2. Turn them into a DVD slideshow.
Such a slideshow only requires images of 720x480.
It will look very good when played on a television set using a set-top DVD player.
It will not look as good when played on a computer.

You can download a trial version of a slideshow program (ProShow Gold) at www.photodex.com
The trial version will put a watermark on each image, but you will be able to try all the program features and see if you are satisfied with the results before buying the software.

You will need a DVD burner on your computer.
You can find DVD burners for about $50.

Photoshop can enhance the photos.

That doesn't mean that it will resolve details that are not clear in the camcorder image. It does mean that defects in the camcorder image can be improved or eliminated. As Snapshot said, the TV shows use magic.

That's big bucks if you have someone do it for you because it is a time consuming process. You also won't do much better than 4x6 prints.
