If the child has his way.
Conditions will change as long as congress allows this guy to go anyway he wants and at whatever speed he wants.
As an example of how the press can be treated, here's some "good guy" reporting in the West:
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-military-senate/u-s-senators-demand-answers-from-army-after-reuters-report-on-lead-poisoning-idUSKBN1L22DG
Reuters earlier found lead in paint used in US military housing. Now Congress is involved, so one can hope that conditions will improve.
In China the story would never have appeared, since everything related to the military is closely monitored. In other countries Reuters would face criminal action for 'defaming the name of the great and glorious land of _____', a catchall for any news that exposes failings of the bad government of _____. [In Myanmar two Reuters reporters have been in prison for almost a year for reporting on widely-known government actions against Rohingya Muslims.]
All this is far from what any US news source faces from its strongman wannabe.
But those other countries are governed by people from the same gene pool - human - as here. Conditions could change.
