I prefer Crucial, but RAMJet is also good.
Both those places give a lifetime warranty on their products.
The constant fan action "may" be due to a faulty temperature sensor or even clogged a air inlet/outlet.
If RAM from either of those two places I mentioned does not solve the problem, perhaps a visit to your local Apple store or Apple Service Provider would be in order
Hi guys, in desperate need of help!
I have a mid-2010 imac 21.5 inch mac with mac os 10.7.5 (Lion?). Bought second hand 2 years ago
Anyway, let me start at the beginning, as soon as I got the mac I noticed the fan was really loud (seller claimed it never did that before) - sometimes it was loud, yet other times it was dead quiet. After a few months it went quiet altogether. Then about 6 months ago it started up again only permanently. I have done the SMC reboot over and over with no improvement - although not sure which method is correct, found lots of different ones so I'm not sure.
Then about 4 months ago I got an emergency shut down message, which I promptly did and then it started with a black screen and the three beep tone which I found out to be a RAM issue. So I opened her up and found 2 x 2GB Hynix Korea (08) cards
So I took one out and it ran fine for a few days and then failed again, same thing.
My sister has an imac 24" and I took her ram to try it out and it worked perfectly. Her cards are made by Samsung - fan was still loud with these cards though.
So I hopped online to buy more cards and found 2 x 2GB cards but when they arrived it turned out to be Hynix again. But they worked, until today!!! Neither of them work, but my sisters ones do!
WHAT DO I DO??? - Please help guys?
