A google search for Canon waste tank revealed some informative sites like

You might have to do a little search yourself for the exact model of your printer.
Making an error might necessitate a call to a Canon repair center. The recommended procedure, of course, is letting them do everything - which might turn out more expensive than simply buying a new printer. It really is a shame.

My Canon PIXMA iP1500 printer recently stopped printing upon reporting "Waste Tank Almost Full".
I plan to soon remove the cover so that I can empty and clean the tank. But the printer's memory of a filled waste tank will also need to be reset/refreshed.
What is the code to enter (with the printer's Power key and/or Resume key) for this model?
My OS is WinXP Pro (with SP2).
