Embedded Real Player problem

Feb 7, 2005 4:45AM PST

Hi. I'm on Windows XP, Dell 4700C. I use Internet Explorer. McAfee virus scan, firewall and privacy stuff. My problem is that for several days I have been unable to access the BBC's Radio Player which is powered by Real Player embedded on their site.
I'm English and enjoy listening to re-runs of their progs. My husband can access the progs on his computer so there is no problem at the BBC end - it must be my computer. We've checked the firewall etc. and tried un-installing and re-installing Real Player. Real Player's customer support is as much use as an ash tray on a motor bike!
We are on a wireless network (just the 2 of us at home). Please can anyone suggest what might be causing my computer to fail to connect to the BBC's radio player? I'm tearing my hair out now, and any suggestions will be most welcome.

Did you check the firewall log?

Have you checked through the firewall log? Frequently I have found people have had something pop up and have clicked it without realising what they have done and have locked themselves out of things.

Yes, thanks, **** - we checked that log and looked at it again today - can't see anything relevant to this problem. It seems that somehow I've managed to lose this one particular link - all else is working fine.
