Go to Tools>E-mail Accounts,
View.. click [Next]
Find the item that is setup for your AOL Email server and [Remove] it.

But, even if you don't, if you stop your AOL account, the server - even it it is still there - will fail.

re outlook automatically copies all emails to AOL account

Hello Chuck,
Many thanks for the quick response. I left it with my family to act upon whilst I was away in Europe and I found they did nothing. Over to me! I did as you suggested and got the dialogue box with Name: mail.comcast.net(1) and Type: POP/SMIP(Default).
We'd like to keep an active AOL account for those occasional times during travel. Do you know if there are any steps I can take?
Many thanks indeed, Alison
