General discussion

emailing with HTML

Sep 30, 2006 3:13AM PDT

hey all,

i want to start sending customers of the small family business newsletters every now and then, you know, to keep in touch.

i wonder what are the main technological problems i'm facing. i mean stuff like having the mails i send classified as spam, having problems with the server and such. (i'd also like to learn how to overcome these problems Happy )

moreover, what free program can you recommand? there are so many, but i'm not sure quiet which one would do the jonb. also, i'm expecting over 100 recepients, and from what i've seen most free programs limit is 100.

thanks a lot (!)

Alonzo

I don't. Here's why.

Besides no html email arrives at our office. Here's why. Our email goes through a "stripper" so anyone's hard work is never seen. If they sent a simple text message and a link to their hard work then it may survive but given how dangerous html email is, we strip such on the way out and in.

You may get labeled a spammer with such email blasts. The simpler message and link may help.

As to free program limits that's easy to solve. Buy the program.

even if i did know whatprogram suits me best, i wouldn't buy it. i saw the price range is between 50 and 400 dollars for such programs and that's not the kind of money we'd like to spend right now. maybe if we'll see if emailing really helps increase sales.

and to my understanding, it's the frequency and the mass of the emails you send that might get you labled as spammer, and not wether it's a text or html mail.

other than that, thanks for your reply,
and i'd thank you greatly if you could give me a link to a place that explains all the technological problems that might occur.
