Question

Email Software Wanted

Jun 9, 2013 9:12PM PDT

Several years back I had on my PC at the time a browser free email program. In that program was all kinds of bells and whistles.
That program and that system that it was on is long gone. and I thought I would never want that program again.
Recently I seen the movie Contact where Jodie Foster(?) used the exact same email program.
Thus... I would like to have that email program back.
Does anyone know and or remember what the name of that browser free email program and its name? Also is it still available for download

I've never seen an email program WITH a browser. So, for me, all email programs are browser free.
Didn't you make a backup of the install program? I always do.

Gmail, Yahoo, and for the most part Hotmail use browsers.

The email program I am referring to is totally browser free much like Outlook.. However the program I am trying to find is exactly like that you would see in the movie Contact. However, I do not remember the name of the program. And the version I had died when my old PC died a death.

Most email-providers (includding gmail, yahoo and hotmail) offer both a webbased interface (in a browser) and a pop3/imap-interface (in an e-mail client).

So you're looking for an e-mail client. All we know:
- you once had it
- you don't know the name
- you didn't make a backup of the installation program
- you didn't save the contents of the hard drive it was installed on when the computer died
- it looked like the program used in the movie Contact

I doubt if that's enough information to locate it. But maybe you're lucky.
