Email merge with Word/Outlook removes hyperlinks

by ryanp2 / September 15, 2006 3:57 AM PDT

I am trying to send an email out using an email merge in MS Word. The email has a URL that takes the reader to an online brochure. When I send the email though, recipients using Outlook are unable to click on the URL (they would have to paste the URL into a browser). MS Word or Outlook removes the hyperlink.

If I just create an email in Outlook and send, the hyperlink is not lost. So why is it lost when I send the email from within MS Word? Can anybody tell me why this might be happening or suggest a way to prevent it?

Thank you so much--I had even searched the MS KB, but whatever search terms I used didn't find this article. I'll try these steps. I appreciate it!
