If she has her own computer ("her home computer") why does she need your computer to check her mail. I can check my mail on gmail.com on any computer I like.
So there is some part of the story you forgot to tell.

If her email is on that broken computer, it might not help to login on your computer to read existing mails, unless it's only her keyboard and both computers are in the same home network or home group.
But she should be able to make a connection with her e-mail provider to send mail and read new mails.

Logging in on your computer to read existing mails only makes sense if her mail is on the web, or on her backup (and you can restore that part of the backup on your PC).

So please tell more about the situation and on what she wants.

It's not a matter of "feeling" but needed info

In order to answer your question, we need info you didn't provide. Now regarding old email, again you haven't provided needed info. If she's been using webmail or has client email set up to leave email on the ISP's server, then she'll be able to get those old emails on your computer.

Remember that the answers you get are only as good as the info you provide. You should re-read the red text that's shown before you post anything:

Please read before posting
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. ..."

If she is using an email client to download her emails, make sure she changes the settings to leave a copy on the server. This way she can access her email no matter what computer or device she is on.

There are multiple was to doing this but some depend on

what email she has. Well if you want her own account you can create the account with her name and password then add however she get emails now. Some emails offer clients and or web browser access. It also depends on what type of email.

If you don't mind her using your login account you can add her account to the same email client you use and she will just click her account to see her email and you click on your to see your emails.
