So, my buddy gave me an old Emachine T2984 he had lying around. It worked fine, but now it seems to be having a hard time starting. I am a novice when it comes to computers, but I researched on various message boards and it seems this is common. Most forums suggest that it is a power issue, but i don't think that is the problem. Power seems to be flowing just fine, fans are blowing, etc. When I turn the computer on, the fans blow extremely hard and the light on the the front of the computer, you know, the one with the battery logo above it stays on and is solid green. I have to power on and off anywhere between 5-25 times before it will actually work, and when it does work, the fans simmer down. I changed the battery on the motherboard because I read somewhere that that might be the problem, but that didn't solve it. Any ideas? I really hope there is a cheap fix for my problem, as my financial situation makes it impossible to purchase a new computer. I will try to get back to the forum to answer any questions you may have, if this computer decides if will fire up and grant me the pleasure of going online! Thanks for any help in advance, sorry if my lack of knowledge or technical jargon is lacking.
