I just bought one of these for my 9 year old daughter. The CD won't load and the player doesn't connect to sync or do anything. I am going to try to get my money back. I only paid $20, but I will take that $20 and place it on a name brand mp3 player. Thanks for the information. I thought it was me not reading the directions correctly!
OK so here is my experience on these mp3 players. and i see as i have looked around on the Net that i am not the only one. just figured i'd post up my review as i don't see them listed on the site.
My 2 daughters both recvieved a Touch screen "element" mp3 player for christmas (model# gc920/940 . One of them worked fine for about 3 days then i got the hour glass screen. which always pops up as soon as you charge it then it boots the player up. The other worked fine till about 2 days ago. Now i have 2 mp3 players that are basicly expensive paper weights. I can't return them to the store (as element customer service has advised me to do, they advised me there is a problem with the internal memory/programming that won't allow the player to load). The times i have called i get the same problem/issues explained to me, but no offers on sending them in to get replaced only to take them into where they were purchased. Both of them were gifts and don't have a receipt for. I gave them back to the person you purchased only to get them returned back to me saying the store told them that it is past there 30 day exchange policy and nothing can be done (these were both purchased on Black friday). And Element gives no help only telling me their warranty is thru the store it was purchased at. Even worse is that the "element" installation cd's no longer work!!! they won't even load!!! Is there a time limit on these? Or a max amount of times you can try and load them onto a Pc? I uninstalled their program and tried to reinstall to see if that was the problem and i can't even do that. I previously purchased an element 1gb mp3 player for my son that never turned on at all (it ran off a regular "aaa" battery) after returning it to the store 3 times for an exchange and no sucess i finally gave up and brought him a name brand mp3. My words of advice...try and return it, and go name brand!!!
