it would be worth the effort to instal it.
Sometimes ESD never happens and sometimes it does.
Luck of the draw.
That said, it is alway prudent to assume that it will happen and to take precautions.
Recently, I purchased a used logic board on ebay.
I was shocked when I received the item. I told the
seller to pack well, ship in a strong box and use
an anti static bag.
Well, the carton was crushed and the item was wrapped
in plastic (and still is). I don't think he made the slightest
effort to protect this board from static electricity.
My question is: Should I bother to install this thing on
my computer? It's probably dead already ... or not?
