Editing DVD

Jan 27, 2006 8:57AM PST

Last year I burned all my home videos onto DVD-R media. Is there any software program where I can download the files on the DVD to the hard drive, edit them, add chapters, etc.? The files are IFO, VOB and BUP on the DVD. I have Sony Click To DVD, WinDVD Creator 2 and Nero. Thanks for any suggestions.

Doesn't Appear That Way

Hey Art,
The programs I have look as if they are able to open avi,mpg,wmv,dvr-ms,etc. but not the three types I find on my DVDs (IFO, VOB, BUP). As for Shrink, it's a great program, but it doesn't address my need to add chapters or titles.

I thought windvd creator does that.

I know intervideo's "MyDvd" can do it and I think Ulead's "dvd moviefactory" can do it also. Maybe go to their website and download the trial version and give it a try.

I install my "Windvd creator-plus" (don't know how it compare to your "windvd creator2"). It CAN do title but it will work with mpeg2 but not .vob files.

Ulead DVD Movie Factory

I have had excellent results doing that with Ulead DVD Movie Factory. I used it to edit +RW discs. I have also used DVD Shrink to extract video from DVD-R discs, then edited the video in Video Studio and re-burned with Movie Factory.
