The only hard part can be to get the content off the DVD and into some MPEG or other content.
If your video editor won't open such directly, use CladDVD XP to "rip" it off the DVD and open that with the video editor. I will not tell you where to find CladDVD XP but it can be found with http://www.google.com
I offer no support for this program, but note it as a method to get what you want done.
As to video editing, such usually come with the DVD recorder. Don't buy a video editor software since it will come with the DVD recorder. Wait and see if that's good enough.

Hi everyone! We have several dvd's that were made of family, etc. I would like to take the content of these dvd's and edit them but I don't have a capture card. Is there a program out there that will read these dvd's and let me edit the content and then make another dvd whenever I'm ready. I have a dvd burner so that isn't my problem. I have read the specs on Roxio's VideoMaker Professional 7 and it says "edit dvd's". Will it do it without a capture card? If anyone knows any program that will do what I'm asking, please let me know. Thanks for your time.
