You can edit audio/music in Windows Movie Maker. You can increase/decrease volume levels, mute, fade in/out, clip/split. These options are available by right-clicking on the Music/Audio track. The Video audio also offers similar editing features by clicking the + button beside the Video track.

I have several tracks of live music (my daughter)recorded on a CD, also imported into Itunes. I would like to edit them to remove the dead time at the beginning of each track. Is there free software that I could use, or something already on my PC (windows 7)that might work? I just want to remove 30 seconds of so without losing sound quality.
