Edit Audio in VOB

I have a DVD (own, made by a professional) from which I wish to make another with a different sound track. I dont wish to Transcode the Video as far as possible (to retain the quality).

I split the VOB file to m2v video and mp2 audio tracks using the DVD Decryptor. (mp2 from ac3 using BeSweet).

I'm facing a problem of Audio Video Sync when recombining them (TMPG+).

How do I advance or delay the audio as required? VirtualDub has this option, but will not permit saving as a MPEG2.

Is there any program, freeware if possible, that permits m2v and mp2 multiplexing WITH an option of audio Advance/Delay to generate the required MPEG2 file?

There is a way to convert the VOB to a avi file and do the needful using VirtualDub. But as I said earlier, I wish to avoid Video Transcoding as far as possible.

1. Ulead DVD Movie Factory 4 now has a DVD editing feature. Try their demo from to see if you can use it.

2. Search for vob2avi to see if that will do it.

Thanks Bob.

I've tried DVD2AVI earlier, but I find that it cannot save in MPEG2. I also could'nt see anywhere how it can do a Multiplexing.

I'll try Ulead DVD Movie Factory and respond.

MPEG a non-issue.

Why? We just re-encode it later. Some want a one-pass encoder or such and they must search until they give up.

The multiplexing is done later in the dvd creation software or even Virtual Dub.

Best of luck,
