Question

Echo Dot making iPhone keyboard clicks

For some reason my new Echo Dot (I have one in the living room and the new one is in the bedroom) has "stolen" the sounds from my iPhone. Keyboard clicks when typing a text, the text sent "whoosh", the power-off sound; these are not coming from my iPhone but rather from the Echo Dot.

The only way to change it is to go into the iPhone control panel (swipe UP from the bottom of the screen), select Music and then choose my iPhone rather than the Echo Dot. I never had to do this with my first one.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? Why it's happening with the new Dot when it never happened with the first Dot? How to remedy the issue?

Thank you!!!

Echo Dot problem

Just got a new amazom Dot. When I text on my iPhone it makes clicking sounds on the Dot. Then also, it at times makes my Dot not respond to my questions.

Sounds like you paired the phone with the dot.Pun unintended

RE: We had this issue too!

All you need to do is turn the Bluetooth off on your phone, this stops it l making the tapping sounds when using your phone keys to type.
