Question

Echo Dot is so frustating

Aug 10, 2016 2:53PM PDT

I am trying to connect our new Echo Dot to a Yamaha RX-V671 which, according to the Echo page on Amazon, is compatable. I purchased the Yamaha YBA-11 Bluetooth Wireless Audio Receiver for Yamaha AV Products and hooked it up but have had no success. I am at my wits end. The Yamaha users manual says to use docking to get to Bluetooth. Choose docking, then options. Then you're supposed to select pairing, but guess what, there is no option called pairing. The Echo app will not recognize any Bluetooth on the Yamaha. Has anyone done this????? Are they lying about that receiver being compatable with the Echo Dot? CAN I SLIT MY WRISTS NOW?

I have the Echo Dot

And pairing is not that easy. I have to get the speakers into pairing mode then use the Android app to configure it.

Can be frustrating.

My speakers are wired to my receiver. They are not wireless or bluetooth. The receiver is supposed to be however.

I don't have your setup. But in one line, this is how I connect.

"Go into settings in the Alexa app, then go to Bluetooth, then connect. Have your receiver in pairing mode first."
