Ebay sniping software/services?

Nov 6, 2005 3:02PM PST

I use Ebay fairly frequent and I'm thinking into getting a sniping software or web based services. Does anyone here has any recommendatin about reliable services?

I just don't feel comfortable sharing my ebay password with a program I don't know how reliable it is. That's why I want to get recommendations.

I've heard aout esnipe.com, but it charges by percentage and I'm not sure I want that.

Anyone has any recommendations?

Thanks

Recomendations?

Thanks for your help Jack.

What I was trying to get is personal feedback in sniper programs. Specially about safety. I don't want to give my password to anyone out there.
Thanks.

Sorry about that...

I misunderstood. I've been a member of Ebay for several years, back when PayPal was just coming on. I have never had a problem with passwords getting out. Ebay is extremely careful about that. If Ebay has any affiliation with sniper programs, I would personally feel safe. Read their end-user protection criteria. Maybe that will make you feel better about using them. At least you have a good list of sites, if nothing else. Wink

I've used this service before and it definately works great. http://www.bidslammer.com

They give you a few free snipes before you have to start paying and they have a great record for accurate snipes. Check them out, I haven't had any issues with them.

Best of Luck!

I personally have used esnipe for over 2 years and...

haven't had any issues with them. I've won over 50% of my bids using eSnipe--awesome tool when you don't have the time to sit around and bid at the last minute.

As for security--I'm really careful and protective of my ebay account which I have had since 1998, so esnipe has earned my trust thus far. Just my 2 cents.

Good luck with your decision.

eBay sniper

I use an ebay sniper site called Snippy's (www.snippys.net).
It works with 2 other auctions sites : Delcampe and Yez.
I find it is a good site. I pay only when I win the auctions, so it is not expensive at all.
I have read on this site that we can try it for free.

eBay sniping recommendations
Jul 2, 2009 6:01AM PDT

well it looks like this thread is somewhat still alive, I recommend giving http://www.hidbid.com a try .

Just remember, regardless of when your bid is placed, you still have to be the highest to win (unless two bids are identical or there is not enough of a difference between them to meet eBay's minimum bid increment for the price range - in this case, the first bid in wins)

It seems that some people think that sniping is somehow cheating or magic. All you're doing is waiting until manual snipers will not have time to react, before placing your bid (or using an automated service to do so).

Also, you don't want your bid placed at the very last second. I would say 5 seconds would be about ideal - too late for manual snipers to react and hopefully before any other automated snipes that may be placed for the item.

It seems it would be a good idea for eBay bidders to take a couple of minutes to understand eBay's proxy bidding system and minimum bid increments.
