Easy One.!!

I've had this problem before,a couple years ago,but can't remember how I took care of it.But,if I took care of it,then it should be beginners 101 for you guys.Anyway:I want to Remove a program, but it won't work through Add/Remove Programs. When I click on it on the list,a small box appears, says at top:WISE UNINSTALL.Then inside the small box it says:Could Not Open INSTALL.LOG file.has OK? or an X as most boxes to close.I just close out. Can't remember what I did last time. Thanks for any help.chucker.

Remove it manually...
Nov 4, 2006 3:00AM PST

The usual method in tat case is to simply remove it manually:
1.) Locate the program's folder in C:\Program Files and delete it.
2.) Run CCleaner to clean up the junk files.
3.) Run RegCleaner to remove all of the now obsolete registry entries.

Alternatively, you could try reinstalling the program overtop of itself and then uninstall it again.

Hope this helps,
John

Re:Remove

I installed it again. When I went to Add/Remove,the uninstallation Wizard came up,it uninstalled, but it was still on the list. So,I clicked on it and got same message as before(could not open INSTALL.LOG file. It's no big deal. It's only using 2.69 MB.And I removed icons,so what I can't see,etc...
as far as the manually removal,I really don't even know where to go to look for C:\Program Files.
And,I downloaded Reg. Cleaner, but when I tried to register to let it do it's thing,IE window pops up and says:can't connect to site.
Thanks for your advice,John.I think I'll just live with it.I just wasted an hour & ... on it.It's not worth it.Thanks again, chucker.

Locating c:\program files
Nov 4, 2006 5:22AM PST

In My Computer, on your primary hard disk, you'll easily find a folder Program Files.
And, most likely, this program is in one of the subfolders of it. In fact, when you reinstalled it, it probably told you which one; but you can also find out by having a look at the properties of the shortcut that the install put on the desktop.
