I would be interested to know what you have learned about Java Web Start. I got brand new very expensive
Dell last August to play my music program, Band In A
Box. Program hiccuped right out of the box. I've eliminated aol, norton security, practically all big
programs--but when I tried to remove Java Web Start
which was huge, it just wouldn't do it--sort of froze
up. Since I no longer use internet with that computer, I don't need it anyway. I've communicated with tons of techs from Dell, pg music, aol--and still
can't stop the hiccup (irregular rhythm)
I made a mistake and signed up for a subscription MP3 service (Easy Music Download), which purports itself to offer subscribers to "legally" download lot's of music for approx $21 per year. The service required me to download Java WebStart to work in conjunction with P2P programs (Kaza Lite, WinMX & Easy MP3). Now I find that all of my internet access is greatly slowed and cumbersome (clicking on some of my favorites causes no action whatsoever; and on others, nothing, then 60 seconds later, it will try to load; on others, normal loading would only take a second or two, and now it's taking 60-seconds or more).
What can I do?
I'm going to post this on the Browser forum too, because I can see that it involves both forums.
