If you did copy those off to flash drives you would SCREAM as you tried to use it on the next computer.
Here's what I would do next.
Install Thunderbird (get from NINITE.COM.) Read till the end to know why and why NINITE.COM
1. Read http://www.howtogeek.com/201354/ninite-is-the-only-safe-place-to-get-windows-freeware/ (That's why!)
2. Read http://kb.mozillazine.org/Import_from_Outlook_Express to get your OE emails to Tbird.
3. OK why did we do all that?
Read https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/moving-thunderbird-data-to-a-new-computer for the official answer.
Read http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=2396495 for another move from Windows to Apple.
If you made it this far you may have saved yourself from a look into the abyss.
Well, I'm finally doing it! I will get my new iMac computer tomorrow and finally forsaking the old WIn XP! Sigh. It's still working, but doing strange things. I would like to send all my email to a flash drive so I could sort through and not put it all on my new computer. Some of it is very old and has sentimental value. It is about 10G and I have several flash drives where it would fit. I've read how to do it, but can it just be transferred easily, or is it complicated. I want to make a copy on the flash and keep the original on the old computer for now. Just tell me it's easy and I'll do it,. Thanks, Peggy
