an ext hard drive is the best way. its will take a long time and a lot of space tho. import the video with windv so you wont lose any quality
This is a novice ?:
I have a Sony DCR-HC32 Digital Video Camcorder and am finally getting around to backing up the many tapes I have recorded. I will also eventually need to go in and edit them when I have the time. My first priority is to backup the tapes because I am worried something can happen and I will lose the first 4 years of my 3 children's lives! (Hence, no time to do the editing right now!) My husband has begun to download them onto our computer (HP Pavillion) but he says it is taking a very long time. We also do not want to store it on the hard drive. What is the easiest and quickest way to do backup the tapes to a safe source? We bought an external hard drive. Or do we download it to our HP and then upload to an I-Drive/Picasa type site? Our time is limited with the three little ones so just seeking the easiest method.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
