Earth Sandwich...

May 24, 2006 3:54AM PDT

I'm 2 days behind on the podcasts, so someone might have already pointed this out, but if someone in the USA wants to be part of the Earth Sandwich, they'll need to be in Hawaii, as all other parts of the USA are over water in the Indian Ocean.

To recap, if you are in Hawaii, call your friends in Botswana...

Artic = north pole

Antarctic = south pole

But I have been to McMurdo ... wonder where that would have been oposite too .

Frozen bread sandwich .... Now that would have been a great photo for the flicker pages.

he was saying that in order for a north alaskan resident to create an earth sandwich, they would have to know someone on the other side of the world, or antarctica.

The problem with being down here is that the view is inverted,

I thought he was looking for a northern link.

Hopefully someone can do it

has anyone looked into shipping routes? Or at the jet ways to see if two boats or planes are ever in the right position.

And why can it not be a really dodgy sandwich with a whole loada earth hanging out one side? You know like a very full burger?

How about the International Date Line?
May 25, 2006 9:39PM PDT

The earth sandwich coordinates of Lausanne, Switzerland are a bit SE of New Zealand, almost exactly on the International Date Line. Guess that I'm out of luck in finding my BOLL sandwich partner...
