e-bay experience, involves the pay-pal section of e-bay

I went to e-bay to become a seller after having many purchasing experiences. In the process I filled out an application for a pay-pal account and based it on a checking account. I never finished setting up the sales account so it just sat in limbo in e-bays mother computer. After a period of about 2 years I went to a local gas station and plugged in my bank card to purchase gas. I was declined. I knew that my payroll auto deposit had gone in two days prior and yet i was declined. I called my bank and they informed me that my account was at a negative balance. I went into my local branch and was told that my account had been hit by an instant debit. I asked why I wasnt notified and was told that the policy was that unless a withdrawl was made as an account closure. I only lost my checking and savings thru that bank but my credit cards were never touched (not from that bank I might add) I was able, through my banks fraud unit and e-bays fraud unit, to recover my loss but it took three weeks. I have since cancelled my e-bay account and especially cancelled pay pal. I will only do business through a credit card now as they are protected....
