DVR to DVD

Is there a simple way to get the saved files from a Direct TV DVR written to your DVD burner? I am using XP Home and have an AMD 3200 processor. and both a CD and DVD burners.

It's a lot simpler to use the AV ports connected to a free standing dvd recorder. You can accomplish the task in less than half the time and a lot less bother. You do lose the capacity to edit the material.
