DVR for Cable with ethernet???? and VOIP

Feb 7, 2005 10:59AM PST

Looking for a DVR unit compatible with cable (Cebridge connections). I would like to have the full functionality that I currently do with DirectTV/TIVO.
I am getting rid of the satellite, going to cable. Getting rid of land line phone and going to VOIP. I also would like to be able to pull shows off the DVR onto my laptop for viewing while traveling and such. Does anyone make a system capable of this? I know they make them compatible with satellite to do all the above, but with cable?
BTW, if it matters I am running Mac OSX on laptop and desktops.
Would prefer the unit have an ethernet port so I don't have to take the laptop to the TV all the time.
Thanks in advance.
Jon
